There's Nothing Here

You heard the news too. Tumblr finally, officially (although this has been the rules underlying ever since Yahoo took over) is taking down the porn.

Like you, like at least 20% of the users of tumblr, it's the porn. It's only the porn. Incredibly user-friendly, it's ridiculously browsable and shareable, and almost all bets are off there.

I stopped logging into xtube and xham to get my quick dose of porn. Sure, I still swear by xhamster for longer clips and directed searches when I want a full-screen, curated experience. But to simply browse, casually and hornily, tumblr was the shit.

Cocksucking, cuckolding, cunnilingus, crossdressers. The community was electric.

Was. I've been seeing signs for at least a year now. Certain links are unexpectedly broken. At first the ones I noticed were urine-themed clips. Not just squirting, but peeing. I have a certain transgressive attraction to clips of women and men peeing where they shouldn't and so I noticed.

I'd scan through my feed with the variety of posters, some focused, some all over the map, most with specific mandates. I found a new appreciation for milf clips, then milfs fucking younger men. Then a subset of clips in which the role-play suggests a mother fucking her son. All in good fun and then I found a fair amount of these were suddenly broken (that cracked gif in the upper left corner) or took forever to load. Source wasn't there anymore but the algorithm didn't yet realize there was nothing to play.

I chalked that up to the taboo over incest. Yahoo getting strict. Copyrighted songs disappeared pretty quickly -- they have an app for that. A few sites of very young women in bikinis, even with no nudity, had trouble keeping their posts up. I get it, I get it.

When I went to my tumblog (link may be obsolete in 2 weeks) it would warn me I'm automatically in "safe mode" unless I logged in proper. Okay, that protects the unexpected surprises. I'd scan through my past postings and a handful are no longer working. What the hell was this one with no subtitle? Oh, well, whatever it is it's gone. Looks like it had 10,000 shares before too.

And then there were the BBC/ cuckold sites. Those often post actual clips of couples filming their experiences fucking strangers. Possibly, I told myself, they had second thoughts, someone's privacy was breached (no paid pornstars these, which of course gave them an extra level of heat), some legal something or so on and whatever...

All right, I can tell you, I spent a lot of time scanning through various feeds, different content, some short, funny, rude, some long clips, some simple masturbation videos, a lot of it self-shot. I love self-shot. I had a list of likes, organized. I would go there to scan, get hard, and jerk off. My likes approached 5000, and I would go through and delete, rearrange, click on the links to find more on handjobs, more on black girls who like white cock, on flashing, whatever.

And then there's the sex workers and LGBT community. Women and men who find it to be safe and their words and pictures directed only at people who are interested in what they're saying and/or selling. Whether it's clips, panties, an anonymous ear or local hookups ("reblog if you're in the 619 area code"). All bite-sized, all an endless collection curated, such that is is, by me. And now it's to be gone December 17th.

Details are still sketchy. It doesn't seem like your stuff will be locked down under "private," so you can still keep it but it can't be shared. You'll have an opportunity to "preserve" your "content outside the community." That sounds like an export. After that point, all my likes will be gone.

All the re-posts of the good stuff, the things I wanted to go back to, gone. The stuff I jerked off to will disappear.

There's nothing here. The writing was always on the wall; it's just I grew to depend on tumblr to get me off the last few years. I'm trying to download and save the best of those 5000 likes, the hot posts that will disappear in two weeks I'll never find again. (Let me tell you how hard it is to find that SPECIAL clip by Bing-ing "heavy girl fucking eye contact." You simply don't find it.)

My feed will be decimated; my account will likely disappear. There are no good alternatives either. Twitter for words and links, wordpress won't allow the NSFW stuff. Soup.io is wonky in a bad way. And none have the reach and community.

[shrug emoji]. They will do what they will do. This effects my ability to scroll and stroke. I'll live.

Back In A Flash

Status update: I locked down this blog to avoid a small comment storm after I posted on the delightful and confounding Whitney Wisconsin, who I don't think is a thing anymore. 

(Just checked -- there's a spammy fake fan site or two, and all her clips are on pornhub. Good job, girl.)

By far my most popular post, with over 55,000 hits. There was a link to me on reddit, discussing the finer points of her strategy (assuming there was one).

I've since explored posting on tumblr, more pictures and clips (mostly other people's) as a way to express myself as curated collection of porny items without the work of writing (as this is). After over 250 posts reaching back to 2008, I'm not convinced a significant minority read such things. This blog seemed like a good idea at the time. And I greatly appreciate those of you who reached out, who read me seriously and took me the same way.

As someone worth your time and who might have challenged or tickled your idea of gender, sexuality, experience and confession.
